Mostly good, minor issue

I got an avalanche beacon and a new pair of ski crampons. Shipping was fairly quick, they got here within a week. The beacon works perfectly, and the crampons seem sturdy enough. My only small complaint is that the product description for the crampons didn't specify the exact model year, which I usually like to know. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but a bit more detail there would be helpful for future buyers. Customer service was responsive when I emailed with a general question about another item though, so that was a plus. Good selection of gear overall, and the prices are competitive.

Solid gear, quick delivery

I recently bought a new hardshell jacket and a pair of merino wool socks. The ordering process was really smooth online, no hitches there. Delivery was pretty fast, I think it arrived in about four business days, which is good for where I am. The jacket feels really durable and the socks are super comfortable, exactly what I needed for my longer trips. I had to look up some sizing info on the site for the jacket, and it was easy to find. Overall, a good experience and I'm happy with the gear.

Fantastic customer service

I ordered a new pair of backcountry ski boots from SkiUphill and had a question about sizing. I called their support line and the person who helped me was so knowledgeable! They walked me through everything and made sure I got the right fit. The boots arrived super fast too. I'm telling all my friends about SkiUphill, I'll definitely shop here again!

Does SkiUphill ever have sales on big ticket items like splitboards or high-end jackets? Been eyeing one but it's pricey.

N Nina Q. 1 month ago
They definitely do! Keep an eye out around Black Friday or their end-of-season clearance. I snagged a killer deal on a splitboard during their spring sale last year, like 40% off.

Sign up for their newsletter, sometimes they send out codes for 10% off full-priced stuff. Not huge, but helps a bit.

How long does shipping usually take to Toronto? Need some gear for a trip coming up in a couple weeks.

R Raj 1 month ago
From BC to Toronto, I'd give it at least a week, maybe a bit more depending on what shipping option you pick. I'm in Ottawa and it's usually 5-7 business days for me.

They do ship across Canada for sure. If it's urgent, you might want to call them and see if they can do expedited shipping for you, probably cost extra though.

Hey, wondering if anyone's had issues with returns? Need to order some boots but nervous about sizing and sending them back if they don't fit.

P Phil 1 month ago
Nah, returns are super easy. Just make sure you initiate it within their 30-day window and everything's still new with tags. I sent back some running shoes last month, no problem.

Yeah, I returned a jacket once, they're pretty good about it. Just cover the return shipping yourself, I think that's standard.

Is SkiUphill legit? Never heard of them before but they have some good stuff. Are they comparable to, say, MEC?

P Phil Hughes 2 months ago
Totally legit! They're based out of Western Canada, have physical stores in Canmore and Squamish. They're more specialized than MEC though, really focused on backcountry ski and trail running gear. Think more high-performance, less general outdoors.

Yeah, they're the real deal. Bought my touring setup from them. Great customer service, very knowledgeable folks.
